    What will be different in 2020?


    The 54th Hof IFF 2020 consists of two festival components: Presence screenings in the cinema and films on demand at HoF on Demand (VoD)


    Where can I watch festival films?


    Presence screenings are available in the Central and Scala cinemas, the Festsaal of the Freiheitshalle and the large hall of the Bürgergesellschaft. Films as Video on Demand can be viewed via the film and ticket portal.


    When can I see which films?


    Presence screenings take place exclusively during the Film Days from Tuesday, 20.10.2020 to Sunday, 25.10.2020. The films go online as VoD one hour after the cinema premiere. Most films will be available online up to and including 1.11.2020. Deviations are indicated, as are access limits for some films.

    Which tickets are available?


    Tickets for the presence screenings in the cinema are available online through our partner kinoheld at a price of 7€ per screening. Tickets for HoF On Demand are available in the following variations: 
    1 film 6 € | 5 films 25 € | 10 films 45 € | All short films 15 €


    Where can I get tickets?


    You can get your tickets for the presence screenings and for HoF On Demand on our film and ticket portal. The tickets can be found in the section OFFERS on the respective page of the festival film.

    How does online streaming work?


    Accompanying the cinema screenings, all festival films are shown online at HoF On Demand on the Internet. The films can be watched as single downloads (VoD) after the premiere in the cinema. Selected film premieres are shown via live stream from the cinema. A film on HoF On Demand is available 24 hours after the first viewing.


    Are there any streaming restrictions?


    The use of HoF On Demand is only possible within Germany. Depending on the film, there may be a limit on the maximum number of views as well as on the time available online.


    Where do I register?


    Please create a user account (LOGIN top right) on the film and ticket portal with your e-mail address and a personal password. Upon successful registration you will receive a confirmation e-mail with an activation link for your account (please check your spam folder!). By clicking on the confirmation link in the e-mail you activate your account. You are now automatically logged in and your name appears in the upper right corner of the screen instead of LOGIN. 


    What happens if I have forgotten my password?


    Just click on "Forgot your password?" on the login page and enter the e-mail address you used to create your account. You will then receive an e-mail with a link to reset your password.


    What are the technical requirements for HoF on Demand?


    To view festival films, you need a computer, a laptop, a smart TV, a smartphone or a tablet. These devices must of course be connected to the Internet. Please use the latest browser version (recommended for Chrome, Firefox, Safari) or the default browser of your smartphone or tablet.


    Can the Online Ticket be used from several IP addresses?


    Yes, but you must be logged in with your e-mail address and password.

    Are there special cinema screenings?


    Screenings for accredited professionals take place in the Central Kino on the 1st floor. For your safety, professionals must maintain wearing masks at their seats.


    How do I register?


    Please create a user account (LOGIN top right) on the film and ticket portal with your e-mail address and a password. As an accredited professional you have received your accreditation code by e-mail. Please enter the code when you register. The portal will recognize your authorizations as soon as you are logged in.
